Among the most well-known and beautiful beaches are: Golfo della Marinella, Punta Marana, Capo Figari, Cala Moresca

Golfo Aranci is an excellent choice for family holidays. In particular, for families that prefer quieter beaches and resorts and like to spend family time outdoors. There are plenty of easy trails for enjoyable walks and mountain bike activities. Another attraction in the area is the lovely protected areas of Capo Figari and Figarolo Island which have superb views.

The beaches have shallow water and are perfect for young kids. In addition, there are small fish all around so the little ones get entertained by the marine life when snorkelling.

Golfo Aranci is also one of the main Sardinian touristic harbours and it is well connected to the Italian mainland with daily ferries. It is also very close to other well-known holiday destinations like Porto Rotondo, Porto Cervo and the rest of the Costa Smeralda which can be reached within 15 minutes’ drive.

The local lifestyle is relaxed and has a slow rhythm which is perfect for relaxing holidays. The area provide all amenities for exciting water sport activities. Certainly, diving and snorkeling are among the most popular in the area. There are also plenty of sailing clubs suitable for novices and experts.

It is not clear where the Aranci name comes from. However, it seems that it comes from the word “granci” which is the local dialect for Granchi in Italian. Granchi means crab, which are plentiful in the local shallow waters.

If you are holidaying in this area make sure to visit the superb beaches nearby such as Cala Greca, Cala Sabina, Spiaggia Bianca (the White Beach) and visit the gorgeous Capo Coda Cavallo Bay.

The beach amenities in the area are generally excellent: deck chairs, beach umbrellas, etc. can be rented on the beach. There are also small bars that provide light lunch selections while you are sunbathing, swimming or reading a book.

Golfo Aranci has a great list of hotel and beach resorts that are very suitable for families with young kids. The entertainment for the little ones and adults is generally provided by the hotel. However, there are many events in the town organized by the local council during the summer months, especially after dinner.

We really encourage families and young couples to spend their 2019 holiday in this wonderful area of Sardinia. There is a lovely sense of romanticism in Golfo Aranci and beautiful sunsets to be enjoyed whilst sipping an aperitivo in the harbor.
